Our pretty princess!

Lilia's 2 year photo shoot today at Sears. She was an angel. The girl was alright who took them but missed a lot of really big smiles that Lilia gave her. We got a few good ones. Here is a sampling. These are taken from Sears website.

These are the only two I ordered.

Doesn't she look prayerful? She's actually staring at the giant flash light.

Peek-a-boo

We took her shopping in this outfit the other day and as we walked through the doors a woman at check out said "She needs an agent!" She's our pretty girl! Thanks for the cute outfit Aunt Rebecca!

Happy Birthday my handsomest hubby!

We had a party on his birthday for both David and Lily.
very excited to open his presents from us

I hope every wife has the blessing to say "I have a fantastic man beside me each day, I call him my husband." I certainly can! My David turned 33 on Friday. He works a job he doesn't love for me, he serves the Lord faithfully, he shows his love and affection for me and our little one, he laughs with me, cries with me and holds my hand. He works hard at his job, he works hard at "conquering the universe", he has mad skillz! He's an amazing Daddy and a caring husband. We pray for him when he leaves and we rejoice in his return. He's a smartie pants and doesn't act like it. His life long goals are to take our family to the celestial kingdom, to learn, to teach, to serve and to become a "jedi".

David,
We love and adore you! You're my favorite person to laugh with, the person I turn to cry to. You never insult us or put us down. You're the man of our dreams that Heavenly Father blessed us with. As our temple sealer once told us, I love you more each day than I did before. Happy Birthday!

Happy 2nd Birthday Lilia Sue!

Happy Birthday Lilia!Putting up 2 fingers when asked "how old is Lily?" "2"

Trying desperately to blow out her candle. She needed a little help. When she blows her bangs move.
She needed no help opening her presents. She loves the princesses. She calls them "Booty", "Anna Anna Beast", "Rella", and "White"
We gave her wooden puzzles, a cash register, the princess dinnerware set, and wooden blocks. Thanks to everyone who sent her gifts. She loves them all!

Her new slide from Grammy and Pop!Grandma Joy and Grandpa Larry sent her 2 movies and a fridge magnet toy to learn the alphabet. We love you all!

On Saturday we had her party with kids 3 and under mostly from Church. They had a wonderful time.
Haley, Cohen, Eddie, Matthew, Lilia and Nina (and her mommy Heather)
We are a happy family!

It was a ducky party.

When I told Lily she was having a party, she cried and said "No Go Potty!"
She soon learned party is way more fun than potty.

All of the kids "helped" open presents. Each tried to open the gift they brought.
We did bubbles!
We played with a parachute! And played with her rubber ducks, bean bags, Pop made balloon animals and hats, they sang and danced around and ate goodie junk. I couldn't have asked for a better birthday party for her. It went perfect! Everyone had fun and it lasted the perfect length of time (90 mins).

This is video of her blowing out her candles yesterday. Check it out. Its super cute!
Lilia Sue,
We love and adore you! We love being your parents. Heavenly Father blessed us with you! These 2 years have been amazing and we are excited for each day to come. Happy Birthday!

Oh a sailor's life is the life for me!

I love sailor suits and sailor style dresses. I decided to make one for our little boy. I made up the pattern based on a random one piece outfit just for size and imagined the rest. It took about 3 or 4 days to complete, mostly because I damaged my machine in the process but its all oiled up and working smooth now. I want him to wear it for his blessing. Hopefully it will be a good fit! Let me know what you think! (I bought Lily a pink sailor dress to go with it.)

Summer isn't coming fast enough!

I told David I have nothing to write about on here. He suggested snow. We have had 2 blizzards in the past 2 weeks along with smaller storm systems. And again its snowing today. Can I just tell you how much I want it to be warm?

I miss the sunshine warming my face. I miss the heat on my hair as I lay on the beach, the rushing melodic sound of the ocean rolling to and fro, the birds singing the sweet sound of summer love outside my window as the sun rises to greet the day. I miss the greenery surrounding my home, the refreshing breeze through my window as I bake in the kitchen, the evening sunsets that cool the air while taking a walk with my family. I miss the thrill of waking on a Saturday morning wondering what treasures I will find at the yard sales. (Every season has a reason to shop but that's another post entirely.) I miss wearing a sundress and feeling the loose fabric caress my legs as I walk. I miss walking barefoot inside, outside, everywhere. I miss having a choice of footwear: open-toe, slingback, flip-flop, sneakers without socks, slip-on. I miss using the stroller in the mall to carry a child instead of our coats. I miss the tropical aroma of sun tan lotion on my skin, the highlights in my hair, the refreshing shower after an ocean adventure. I miss licking the powdery sugar off each finger as I devour a funnel cake. I miss carrying sleeping children to their beds after a night of rides in Ocean City.

Dear Summer,
I know we shall meet again. We wish you were here with us now. Our next meeting will bring new adventures as it always does with reflections of our past. A new babe will learn of your wonders and joys, will sleep on your beaches, will swim in your tides, will feel your sweet rain on his skin. And the rest of us will fall in love with you all over again. If we escape to our pre-chilled homes it is not because we don't love you, just that our love has grown too strong, too hot. We will return to you soon. But for now think of us and bring us a remembrance of your sunshine and warmth that we now crave. Until we meet again,
yours truly,
The Beach Broughs

BIG Boy Brough

I had another ultrasound and he's looking good! He's measuring a little big again but still due around the end of May. I've started gaining weight. I'm up to 8 lbs. Last time I gained 26 lbs. and lost it all in 3 weeks. we'll see if I'm that lucky again :)

In my estimation his feet are looking huge! I wasn't thinking "aw look at his cute feet." instead it was "WHOA! His feet are giant!" But the doctor said that about Lily as soon as she was born. My last doctor was 5 feet tall from the Philippines and insisted Lily's feet were as big as hers. He'll be just the same I'm sure.

He isn't modest at all! He let us all know he was a boy and we better be ready for him. Already he's got waiting for him: a 2T flight suit, a bomber jacket and 2 airplane mobiles (one's wood, the other plush). Maybe he'll be a fighter pilot like his Grandpa Larry!

He's moving lots now. He's kicking me right now! David felt him for the first time last week. He said "Hi, Its daddy!" and boom, he got a strong high-five! Daddy was thrilled. Lily calls my tummy "baby" but she also calls her own tummy "baby". We're still working on his name. I think we know his first name but we're still thinking. I'm afraid to ask for suggestions because most are quite unusual. I am interested in male family names for his middle name if there are any suggestions :)
